Music

Music support all areas of children’s development.
It helps the body and the mind work together.
Exposing children to music during early development helps them learn the sounds and meanings of words, which in turn will enhances their natural ability to decode sounds and words.
Music offers a joyful and rewarding learning experience and nurtures children’s imagination.
Some music are calming like lullaby music which is used for sleep time, and other music will lift children’s spirit.
Linking music to different activities, such as dancing encourages children’s inclination to move, developing their fine motor skills and gross motor skills. Plus, if the rhythm is very entertaining, some children might start jumping up and down, which helps with their muscle development.
The key to toddler music is repetition, which encourages language and memorization, and silly songs make toddlers laugh.
By mastering these skills, children build the base of literacy and numeracy.
In our daycares we use music to signal different activities throughout the day, like clean up time, sleep time or quiet time etc.
